"1629" Featured on Bleeding Cool
Now, some of you who follow me on Tumblr may have already seen my post about this project from a few days ago but I will quote myself here as well!
Be warned there are a lot of all caps below.
“1629” is not your typical graphic novel in any sense! Chris Lauto, the author, artist and crazy man carved each page by hand on linoleum to make the prints. DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW INSANE THAT IS!? HE. CARVED. EVERY. SINGLE. PAGE. CARVVVEEEDD. I don’t know how he still has working hands afterwards but how awesome is that? This book is worth funding on it’s artistic value alone.
On top of the fact that it’s an incredibly unique piece of work there’s also the story! “1629” has the fun combination of supernatural events which take place within a historical setting. If you’re not into that I don’t know how we could ever be friends!
All I know is Chris put a ton of research, planning and work along with the usual blood, sweat and tears (I assume there were some but he probably won’t admit it) into this book. It’s something that should be out there for people to see.
Go to the link to contribute to the Kickstarter for “1629”. Any amount you can give is appreciated, plus you’d be helping an independent artist reach a greater audience with their work.
